The Cast of Witches Among Us!
*Caitlin Jackson (Serena Woodruff) grew up performing and training in Indiana where she worked with Indiana Repertory Theater, Indianapolis Civic Theatre, Edyvean Repertory, Theatre on the Square and The American Cabaret Theatre, as well as others in the Indianapolis area. Since moving to Chicago in 1997, Caitlin has performed with Chase Park, Ludicrous Theatre, Walkabout Theatre/Knife & Fork, Cowardly Scarecrow's Musical of the Living Dead, Hell in a Handbag's 2013 production of Christmas Dearest (Bette Davis), Wayward Productions, Strangeloop, Factory Theater and most recently as “Miss Spink” with Black Button Eyes Productions in the Midwest premier of Coraline. She’s thrilled to be back with her NAFT family for their 5th production together! Up next, more Hell in a Handbag goodness with a staged reading of a new musical, Bewildered! *Matt Huston (Tristan Adaire) is thrilled to be a part of his second production with NAFT, and this time as a company member! He last performed with NAFT as the Scarecrow in The Marvelous Land of Oz. Other credits include Urania (Independent production), Diary of Anne Frank (MPAC), Adrift in Macao (Towle Theatre), and Rocky Horror Show (Underscore Theatre). Up next, Matt can be seen in the webseries Blown to premier this winter. On stage, he will be understudying NTYA’s How I Became a Pirate and playing Tigger in TATC’s A Winnie the Pooh Christmas Tail. Sarah Blevins (Althea Andromeda) is very happy and very honored to be working with New American Folk Theatre for the first time. Some of Sarah’s past show credits include Patsy Cline in ALWAYS, PATSY CLINE, Annis-JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, Trix, The Aviatrix-THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Mayor Matilda Hyde-ALL SHOOK UP, BEEHIVE, FOOTLOOSE , & JANE EYRE THE MUSICAL. Some of Sarah’s other Musical credits include Meg-BRIGADOON , Rizzo-GREASE, and Doris – Damn Yakees and The Widow Corney-OLIVER for Light Opera Works. *Kirk Jackson (Detective Lee Sullivan) is super excited to be appearing in his third production with New American Folk Theatre! He is a graduate of Illinois State University's acting program, and continues his education through the many collaborative experiences, Chicago's rich acting community has afforded him since. Most recently he Assistant Directed/Stage Managed SUPER-WELLESIAN for Fringe Fest and he has recently been seen as bad boy, Marvin Hudgens in NAFT’s Dark of the Moon, Oberon/Theseus (u/s) in Strangleloop Theater's A Midsummer Nights Dream, Eddie/Dr. Scott in Underscore Theater's Rocky Horror Show, and Brotherboy in Ludicrous Theater's Sordid Lives. He would like to thank this amazing cast and crew, his fellow NAFT company members, and his wife Caitlin especially for a truly unforgettable experience!
Christopher Selefski (Detective Allan Applebee) is ecstatic to be making his debut appearance as Allan at New American Folk Theatre, in their production of Witches Among Us. His other most recent credits include Conor in The Next Thing at Signal Ensemble Theatre, Warner in Legally Blonde at The Philip Lynch Theatre, and Steve/Waiter in Rent at Brightside Theatre. Christopher would like to thank his family, friends and most importantly God for all their love and support. He would also like to thank New American Folk Theatre for opening their arms and giving him a wonderful opportunity.
Julia Chereson (Katherine Corwin) is thrilled to be a part of the Witches Among Us cast. Recent credits include You Don't Say! a Sole Productions Film, Ale Obsession a Mental Notions Film, Taking Steps with The Eclipse Theater Scholar Series, and Dating Incorporated at The Public House Theater. She has a degree in Theatre from the University of Mount Union and has trained at Victory Gardens, Profiles Theater and the Black Box Acting Studio. Julia is currently a member of the Second City Conservatory.
Max Hinders (Police Commissioner Paul Burgess) is happy to be making his Chicago debut with the New American Folk Theater. Originally from Williamsburg, VA, Max graduated from Valparaiso University in May with a B.S. in Sports Management & Theater. Favorite credits include Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd) 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney) and The Universal Wolf (M. Woolf). He also can be seen in 'COPY' The Webseries which is scheduled to be released this fall. Max would like to thank his family and friends for their support.
Joshua Wheeler (Mayor Wagner) is ecstatic and proud to be making his Chicago debut with New American Folk Theatre. Having recently relocated to Chicago, he is thrilled to be working with such a wonderful, kind and extremely talented cast and crew. He began acting as a child, studying all aspects of the craft in High School, The Academy of Dramatic Arts and College. Most recently he performed with an ensemble entitled Backbeat, singing, dancing, and acting in numerous medleys from Broadway shows. He gives all glory, honor and praise to God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Thanks to everyone involved in this fantastic musical and to NAFT. Jordan Grzybowski (Waiter) is bubbling over with excitement to make is naft debut. His recent credits include Sweet Smell Of Success (kokandy) Hey, Dancin'! Hey! Musical! (Factory Theatre) and Reefer Madness (Cult Camp Productions) Hailing from Northern Minnesota, Jordan loves to sew, sing, and is currently a shoe salesman at Johnston & Murphy. *Jamal Howard (Waiter) is originally from San Jose, Calif. Jamal grew up performing and training in musical theatre since the age of eight with Children's Musical Theatre San Jose (CMTSJ), Peninsula Youth Theatre, and Bellarmine College Preparatory. He taught jazz classes and workshops and choreographed for CMTSJ’s summer camp. Jamal graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Theatre and Advertising/Public Relations. There he made his directorial debut with Wonder of the World. He directs, choreographs, and teaches jazz/hip-hop dance classes in grade schools on Chicago’s Southside and at the Beverly Arts Center. Directing and Choreography credits include Once on This Island, Cats, Hairspray!, and Little Shop of Horrors. Jamal has recently performed with Quest Theatre Ensemble, Emerald City, and Endpoint Theatre Company.
Steve Cox (Waiter) is making his Chicago debut in Witches Among Us and he couldn't be more excited! A born and raised Midwesterner from Grosse Pointe, MI, recently Steve found himself moving back to the Midwest from NYC to break into Chicago's famous theater scene. Stage credits: Leaf Coneybear- Spelling Bee, Coach Bill Johnson- Good News!, Papageno- Die Zauberflöte, and Ben in The Telephone, among others! Steve would like to thank his family and friends for their everlasting support, he wouldn't be here without them, and to the wonderful cast and crew of this show!
Mario Mazzetti (Waiter/Male Understudy) is so excited to make his NAFT debut in Witches Among Us. Recently, Mario appeared as the rode hard, put up wet Typist/Guard in Hell in a Handbag Productions' Jeff recommended Caged Dames. Other previous credits include Seymour (Little Shop of Horrors), Chip (Spelling Bee), Nigel (Something's Afoot), Pirelli (Sweeney Todd), and Frank (The Rocky Horror Show), as well as several solo cabarets at Davenport's Piano bar. Anthony Powell (Ensemble), an actor and singer, has been seen acting in both film and theatre productions. His past credits include independent films The Green Elephant, A Christmas Tale, and more recently Shelter and I Have Been to the Wild Wood, both plays. He was also excited to be a part of the new musical Witches Among Us.
Katy Fattaleh (Ensemble) is working for the first time with NAFT and she is super excited for everyone to see the show. Katy was last seen as an ensemble member in Underscore's Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Chopin Theatre. She thanks her family and friends for their love and support. Believe. Dream. Risk. Inspire.
Taryn Wood (Ensemble/Female Understudy) is an Artistic Associate with the Fine Print Theatre Co. & Underscore Theatre. She runs the Uncommon Cabaret and loves developing new work! Taryn will next be performing with Lifeline Theatre in Soon I Will Be Invincible. Thanks to NAFT for this opportunity!
